SPECTRUM SWIM CO
Why Choose Spectrum Swim?
Neurodiverse-Affirming Approach – We understand that every child learns differently. Our instructors adapt teaching methods to fit each swimmer’s needs, preferences, and comfort level.
Private Lessons – All lessons are one-on-one, ensuring individualized attention and a calm, supportive environment.
Experienced Instructors – Our team has training and experience working with children of all abilities, including autism spectrum disorder and other developmental differences.
Focus on Safety – Water safety is always at the heart of what we do, building the foundation for lifelong confidence in and around the water.
Our mission
To create a space where neurodiverse individuals can develop water safety, confidence, and swimming skills at their own pace—while feeling celebrated for who they are.
Our Space
Spectrum Swim Co. lessons take place in the indoor pool at Harmony Hill Retirement Community in Oshawa. This pool offers a calm, welcoming atmosphere that is especially suited for neurodiverse swimmers.
Unlike busy public pools, our space is:
Smaller & More Private – The intimate setting helps swimmers feel secure and reduces the overwhelm that can come with large, crowded swim facilities.
Minimal Stimulus Environment – With less background noise, lower traffic, and fewer visual distractions, swimmers can focus on building skills and confidence.
Consistent & Predictable – Lessons happen in the same quiet environment each week, creating routine and familiarity that supports comfort and learning.
Safe & Supportive – Parents and caregivers can easily observe lessons from nearby seating, fostering trust and connection.
This setting allows us to prioritize individualized learning, making the pool a safe and positive space for swimmers of all abilities to grow.
